kenyatta:

Looking at electric car charging stations in LA a few months back, I started wondering what kind of behavior would arise when demand started outstripping supply.
And today I read this via Vince Burlapp’s Chevrolet Volt Test Drive:

I had plugged the car at the Malibu library, for free. Returned a couple of hours later to see that my Volt had been disconnected. (Now another Volt was connected) And this was on my windshield…So it looks like now, we will have to deal with that kind of crap more and more as electric cars become more popular.

When a new technology reaches critical mass, it provides new ways for people to act like utter douchebags, and then the technology gets blamed.
